1918 from the Polish, Lithuanian, Belarusian and Ukrainian perspectives

How were the circumstances, the significance and assessment of Poland’s independence presented in historiography and in school textbooks? What was “1918 year” from the Polish, Lithuanian, Belarusian and Ukrainian perspectives? These are the most important issues to be dealt by the participants of the international scientific conference, which will be held on September 13-14 at the Faculty of History and Sociology at the University of Bialystok – informs Katarzyna Dziedzik, a spokesman for the university.

The conference will be led by well-known historians from Poland, Lithuania and Belarus. The discussions in the hall of the Historical-Sociological Department of the University of Bialystok are open to all participants.

The organizers of the conference are the Institute of History and Political Sciences of the University of Bialystok, the Polish Historical Society and the Regional Center for International Debate in Bialystok.
