21 scientists from the Wrocław University of Technology receive grants from Opus and Preludium calls

Almost PLN 15.5 million from the National Science Center for the implementation of their research projects were received by 21 scientists from the Wrocław University of Technology as part of Opus and Preludium calls. Previously, the Wrocław University of Technology received a total amount of over PLN 8 million.

The most significant aid has been given to Dr Eng. Marcin Sieńczyk from the chemical department. His project “O’yyong-nyong virus CP protease: substrate profiling, design and synthesis of inhibitors and molecular probes with their biochemical analysis” gained over two million PLN within the Opus call.

Opus and Preludium are the most popular calls organized by the National Science Center. 2970 applications were submitted in both calls, of which 618 projects received funding. They are announced twice a year, and in November the Polish researchers were awarded almost PLN 400 million.
