The Interdisciplinary PhD School “Academia Copernicana” at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun has started. The Torun University is the first in Poland to implement an innovative program of PhD education.

“Academia Copernicana” provides a prestigious curriculum for young scientists. The best candidates will work under the supervision of international research teams. The program places emphasis on innovation, interdisciplinarity and internationalization and it is in accordance with the European Salzburg II Initiative. The aim is to prepare participants for research activities and academic and didactic at the academic level. Studies will be conducted in English.

In connection with the growing importance of mobility of young researchers, all participants will have a compulsory three-month internship with a foreign tutor. Consultations with foreign tutors will also be held during summer schools organized in Toruń.
