Adam Mickiewicz University joins the signatories of Magna Charta Universitatum

The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań joined the signatories of Magna Charta Universitatum. The act was signed by the rector of the University, Prof. Andrzej Lesicki, who participated in the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the documentary and the Observatory of the Magna Charta Universitatum in Salamanca.

Magna Charta Universitatum is an act signed on September 18, 1988 by 388 rectors and heads of universities. It contains the principles of academic freedom and institutional autonomy as a guide for good governance and self-discovery of universities in the future. Its aim is to cultivate university traditions and encourage strong ties between universities.

The Observatory of Magna Charta Universitatum is an association of signatories of the document. It undertakes activities aimed at ensuring the integrity of intellectual and scientific work in institutions and society, thus strengthening confidence in the relations between universities and their closer and further communities.
