The Academic Center of Materials and Nanotechnology of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow is organizing on 17 May 2018 the seminar “Challenges for scientists and engineers in innovative industry”.

The guest and lecturer of the seminar will be Luc Van De Putte from the Netherlands, currently employed as a Group Manager Modeling at ArcelorMittal Poland. In his lecture he will deal with the issues of innovation in the steel industry, which is sometimes perceived as an old industry, but in fact it implements many innovations and investments. This provides new opportunities for scientists and engineers working in companies of this industry.

During the seminar, Luc Van De Putte will present the challenges faced by the ArcelorMittal Modeling Group, where scientists (physicists, chemists and material engineers) work on process models, planning and logistics improvements, and data analysis.
