Best master’s theses in the field of economic sciences selected

The 12th Competition for the Award of the President of the National Bank of Poland for the best master’s thesis in economic sciences under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Science and Higher Education and the president of the Polish Academy of Sciences has been completed.

The goal of the competition is to develop Polish economic thought and increase the interest of the academic community in macroeconomics and finance, in particular monetary policy and financial markets.

In this year’s competition, the first prize of PLN 15,000 was awarded to Wojciech Jędruszczak from the University of Warsaw for his work entitled Stochastic convergence pattern of unemployment – Poland 2004-2016.

The second prize of PLN 10,000 was received by Jakub Klimaszewski from the Warsaw School of Economics for his work entitled Resistance of the Australian real estate market to the global crisis of 2007-2010. Conditions, course, causes.

Justyna Janiec from the University of Lodz received the third prize of PLN 7,000 for her work entitled Impact of new capital and liquidity regulations on the banking sector in Poland.
