Bionanopark and the Medical University of Lodz to study myeloma

Lodz Bionanopark and the Medical University of Lodz have established research cooperation. Based on personalized genetic tests they intend to establish, why some patients with multiple myeloma do not respond to pharmacological treatment.

Prof. Tadeusz Robak, project manager from the Medical University of Lodz informed at a press conference that physicians from the Provincial Center of Oncology and Traumatology in Lodz will take part in the research. The medical team will take the bone marrow for testing and then, the selected genetic material will be analyzed by the Laboratory of Personalized Medicine and the Biotechnology Laboratory in Bionanopark. The results of cooperation in research on one of the most dangerous blood cancers will be important for matching therapy to a specific patient. Bionanopark is a modern implementation center for business. It has top-notch research equipment, biotechnology and nanotechnology laboratories.
