Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University becomes the leader of the project “Closer to the patient”

One thousand pharmacies will take part in the pilot project “Closer to the Patient”. The project leader is the Medical Department of Collegium Medicum of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw.

The aim of the project is “validation of the pharmaceutical service”. The project “Closer to the patient” is a program of three-step intervention of a pharmacist in a pharmacy to reduce the mortality of patients from non-adherence causes of drugs in atrial fibrillation.

The project is carried out by scientists of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University together with scientists from the Medical University of Gdańsk and the Collegium Medicum of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. The research methodology was prepared by Dr Regis Vaillancourt from a hospital in Ottawa along with a team of the best clinical pharmacists in Canada.
