Catholic University of Lublin to hold a conference on culture and identity

The Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) is holding a conference within the program “Polonia Restituta. The Decalogue for Poland on the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence “, dedicated to culture.

-It is necessary to repeat after Pope John Paul II: Man lives a truly human life thanks to culture. His life is culture and he cannot live without culture. He is a creator of culture, it expresses him and he is confirmed in it – said Jarosław Gowin, deputy prime minister, minister of science and higher education.

The participants of the event discussed the importance of national culture and Polish patriotism during the period of the partitions, and then occupation and Soviet domination.

The conference was accompanied by the exhibition “KUL University of Independent Poland”, an exhibition of postage stamps “Fathers of Independence” and an exhibition of the Baroque sculptures from the collections of the Museum of the Catholic University of Lublin.
