Computer science is the most popular field of study in Poland

Over 424,000 students started their studies this academic year. people. Over 110,000 students decided to continue their studies as full studies, 311,000 applied for first-cycle studies or regular master’s studies.

Ministry of Science and Higher Education emphasizes, that as in previous years, young people most often chose computer science, with 32,680 people applying for this field of study. The first three most popular studies also do not differ from last year and include IT, psychology and management. This year, however, psychology took the second place (25 831 volunteers) and the management was the third (22 930 volunteers).

Further places were taken by medicine (excluding medical universities, which are supervised by the Minister of Health), law, economics, English philology, finance and accounting, construction and logistics.

The universities with most candidates for one place include Warsaw, Gdańsk and Poznań technological universities with 6 to 7 people for one place. The fourth place was taken by the University of Economics in Krakow (5.7 candidates for the place), as well as the University of Economics in Wroclaw (5.5 candidates for the place).
