Darwin’s birthday to be celebrated at the University of Wroclaw

The Institute of Psychology of the University of Wroclaw and the Polish Society for Human Sciences and Evolution invite participants to a series of popular science events on the occasion of Karol Darwin’s birthday.

As part of the Darwin Days, students of psychology and biology will conduct workshops on the basics of biology and biological foundations of psychology. Over 500 pupils from 9 primary schools in Wrocław will take part in classes, where they will learn how natural selection works, where emotions come from and how the brain is built (and why exactly).

For adults, open popular science lectures are prepared in the hall of the Institute of Psychology at the University of Wrocław, ul. Dawid 1 (start at 18.00). The dates and topics of lectures are: February 11 – Evolution of Romantic Love; February 12 – Evolutionary meanders of human nature and February 13 – Revival of mammoths, dinosaurs and Neanderthals. About ancient DNA. After each lecture a session of questions from the audience is planned.
