Dr Anna Foltyniak-Pękala becomes a laureate of the Maria and Kazimierz Brandys competition

Dr Anna Foltyniak-Pękala from the University of Technology and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała becomes a laureate of the scholarship program of the Maria and Kazimierz Brandys in the International Center for Dialogue in Krasnogruda.

Maria and Kazimierz Brandys scholarship is dedicated to the memory of its patrons and the whole generation they represent, and to the works of Kazimierz Brandys. It supports writers, scientists and translators dealing with the issues of cultures and nations, creating literature in the languages of Central and Eastern Europe, or translating.

11 candidates took part from Poland and abroad in the first of the Maria and Kazimierz Brandys program. The winner, Dr Foltyniak-Pękala wrote her PhD thesis devoted to the work of Kazimierz Brandys, one of the most interesting Polish writers of the 20th century a few years ago.
