Dr Bartosz Wcisło from the University of Warsaw receives the E.W. Beth Prize

Dr Bartosz Wcisło received the E.W Beth Prize for his PhD thesis defended at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw (UW) in 2018 Fri “Understanding the strength of compositional truth”.

PhD thesis of Bartosz Wcisło was created under the direction of Dr Cezary Cieśliński from the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw and was one of 15 other works submitted to the competition. The award ceremony will take place on 15 August 2019 in Riga during the European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information.

The Beth Prize, awarded since 1988 by the Association for Logic, Language and Information, is the world’s most important reward for doctoral theses in the field of logic. The dissertation of Dr Bartosz Wcisły is the third doctoral dissertation from the University of Warsaw, which received the Beth Prize. Only the University of Amsterdam can boast a larger number of winners than the University of Warsaw.
