Ecological energy sources at the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław

29.05.2018

Photovoltaic panels at the Didactic and Scientific Center and the swimming pool of the School of Physical Education and Sport at the Wrocław University of Life Sciences are the largest photovoltaic installations in Wrocław.

The entire front wall of the Didactic and Scientific Center building at pl. Grunwaldzki is covered with photovoltaic modules, which should give over 80 kWp (kWpeak, maximum peak power). It is assumed that a solar panel directed to the south with a capacity of 1 kWp will produce within a year from 900 to 1100 kWh of electricity).

Solar installations on university buildings provide the opportunity for researchers of renewable energy sources. Scientists and students carry out measurements and check the effectiveness of various construction variants. The University of Wroclaw also counts on savings; it replaced old lamps with LED lighting and installed a modern lighting and heating control system.
