Employees of the CEZAMAT Center for Advanced Materials and Technologies and the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) help specialists from the National Institute of Public Health – National Institute of Hygiene (NIZP-PZH) in the fight against pandemics.

Since the beginning of May this year, five people from Warsaw University of Technology have been working in the diagnostic laboratory dealing with testing for SARS-CoV-2.

The team consists of biotechnologists with experience in working with microorganisms, who know the techniques used to diagnose coronavirus and the specifics of working in sterile conditions. There is also a microbiologist in the group with qualifications for the profession of laboratory diagnostician.

PW employees help pro bono. However, their duties are no different from those of full-time employees of NIZP-PZH.
