Ericsson designs the 5G network for the Lodz University of Technology

The international IT concern Ericsson informed that it designed the 5G network for the campus of the Lodz University of Technology. This is a new generation of the Internet, allowing to transfer data up to 20 times faster than in the existing LTE network.

The CEO of the Office of Electronic Communications, Marcin Cichy, who stayed in Łódź, explained that tests of the new Internet may be conducted in a number of locations in Poland, and the government agencies are expecting the best initiatives of various cities. One of these initiatives is also the cooperation of Ericsson and the Lodz University of Technology.

Marek Zagórski, minister of digitization declared a month ago that the Lodz University of Technology will receive PLN 8 million for 5G network tests in 2018-2019. The University wants to test new 5G laboratory and lighting control systems.
