Until March 2nd visitors can see the exhibition “Rector insignia of state universities in Poznań” held in the Archdiocesan Museum in Poznań. The exhibition was organized on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of establishing the Lubrański Academy and the 100th anniversary of higher education in Poznań.

In the former headquarters of the Lubrański Academy there are presented the rector’s insignia from Adam Mickiewicz University; University of Arts; University of Economics; Medical University; University of Life Sciences; Academy of Music; Academy of Physical Education and Poznan University of Technology.

The basic set of insignia includes a chain, scepter and ring. The scepter derived from the shepherd’s rod is a sign of power and decision-making, the chain means the authority of the office and the ring refers to the symbolism of the vow when the rector commits to faithful and loyal service to the university.
