Foundation for Polish Science completed START program

The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) for the 28th time awarded scholarships to the most talented young scientists from all over Poland within the START program. This year, 100 outstanding young scholars will receive the scholarships.

The START program is the oldest scholarship program in Poland for the best young scientists of all fields of science. Its purpose is to support outstanding young scientists and encourage them to further scientific development.

Winners of the START program receive an annual scholarship of 28,000. PLN, which can be used for any purpose.

Since 2009, FNP has also granted awards within the START program to scientists whose research achievements have been assessed by the competition reviewers as outstanding. Their scholarships will be increased to PLN 36,000. This year the awards were given to: Dr Magdalena Migalska from the Faculty of Biology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Rafał Muda from the Faculty of Economics at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Eng. Krzysztof Ptaszyński from the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Monika Żukowska from the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
