10.10.2018

Gdansk University of Technology is renovating a historic building in the oldest part of the campus. After the reconstruction, it will become a modern centre performing the function of interdisciplinary research, museum of technology and art gallery.

The building will include the special zones for students, employees and academic organizations as well as a meeting place for the science and business, a media library with a bookstore, a press room and a café connected to a club room. The university will invest PLN 14.2 million in renovation and reconstruction of the facility, including PLN 3.9 million from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Thanks to the subsidy, an interdisciplinary centre GUT MediaLab will be created. It is planned as a space for the integration of research for teams from various faculties of the Gdańsk University of Technology. It will contain tools for two- and three-dimensional presentations in 4K resolution, electronic boards and automated systems for sharing research results and consultations.
