13.03.2019

The Searis Technologies company from Gdynia received the Stena Line Propeller Prize for the MUSE (Multipurpose Unmanned Surface Explorer) project transferring instruments for hydrographic and hydrological research.

Stena Line Propeller Prize is an award for entrepreneurs granted annually to young innovative companies of the Baltic Sea region in the field of ICT and marine technologies. The awards were given at the Innovation Day conference in Karlskrona in Sweden.

In the last season, the MUSE carried out research tasks at Polish Polar Station on Spitsbergen. The boat piloted by scientists from the Department of Oceanography and Geography of the University of Gdańsk collected samples and examined water at the glacier located in the Hornsund fjord. Despite the arctic conditions, the MUSE has fully implemented the research program by providing dozens of samples and measurements from various depths.
