Government adopts a draft amendment to the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences

The Council of Ministers adopted a draft amendment to the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and certain other acts. The amendment specifies the minimum salaries for researchers of the PAN institutes and the Łukasiewicz network, and gives the possibility to deduct 50 percent of the costs of obtaining revenues to the total remuneration.

The government reported earlier, that “the purpose of the bill is to regulate the issue of minimum wages in respect of scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences.”

The Government Information Center informs that the introduction of minimum salaries for scientists of PAN institutes, research institutes, the Łukasiewicz research network institutes and the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw will provide the equal level of minimum salaries with the staff of state universities.
