Gowin: Social and humanistic sciences as the driving force of socio-economic development

Socio-human sciences in most developed western countries are treated as a social and economic development flywheel, said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin during a conference within the project “Humanities has a future” organized by the Ignatianum Academy in Krakow.

Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education emphasized that many visionary presidents of large international companies are graduates of these majors. -Humanists are the creators of ideas transformed into specific products that change the world, precursors of beneficial social changes, thinkers, inventors and creators. We want the humanities to play a similar role in our country – added Jarosław Gowin.

During the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Gowin also informed that within the framework of competitions of the National Program for the Development of the Humanities, he allocated budget of PLN 35 million for further research in the field of humanities.
