The historians of the Institute of History of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin have launched the first mobile application entitled Trails of Independent Poland 1914-1922. The application includes an Interactive Historical Atlas, addressed mainly to the young generation and history enthusiasts. It was prepared by a team from the Institute of History of UMCS under the scientific supervision of Prof. Jan Pomorski.

The authors attached great importance to the educational values of the application as well as to the methodology of visual history, thanks to which a unique source of knowledge and entertainment was created.

The application users will be able to see an animated report from the Battle of Warsaw, hear the voice of Józef Piłsudski, and get to know two visions of the reconstruction of Poland. Through the five independence routes of formation of the Second Polish Republic, the user will learn about various historical concepts. Each route includes one history lesson with dedicated 3D maps and extensive historical knowledge in the form of multimedia, photos and source documents.

The application can be downloaded on Google Play and the App Store.
