Innovative laboratory tripod developed by scientists from the University of Silesia

25.10.2018

Researchers associated with the University of Silesia are the authors of an innovative tripod project for test tubes or other laboratory containers. The designed system can consist one or several shelves with holes for test tubes and vials.

A unique solution in the project that has already been covered by patent protection is the use of a locking mechanism that holds the vessels. It prevents them from falling out when the tripod falls or turns around.

The patented solution not only allows to empty simultaneously all containers, but also it enables faster washing and drying. The tripod can be used in analytical laboratories in research and industrial units as well as in school chemical and biological laboratories. The authors of the invention are Dr Robert Musioł from the Institute of Chemistry, University of Silesia and Eng. Paulina Musioł.
