International competition for the prize of Lt.-Col. Jan Kowalewski

Gdańsk University of Technology (PG) and the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk are organizing an international competition for the prize of Lt.-Col. Jan Kowalewski. Applications can be submitted by the end of June.
– Lieutenant Colonel Jan Kowalewski was a man of many talents: a mathematician and cryptologist, a graduate of a commercial and chemistry school, a specialist in several languages. Through his activity, he has repeatedly proved how important intelligence and detailed technical knowledge can be in the service of the homeland. Gdańsk University of Technology will disseminate knowledge about his outstanding achievements in the field of technical sciences in Poland and abroad – says the rector of the University of Gdańsk Prof. Jacek Namieśnik.

The prize will be awarded in two categories: “Poland for the world”, addressed to Polish representatives of various fields of knowledge, and “World for Poland”, intended for foreigners whose actions, achievements and creativity are beneficial to the Polish state and nation.
