Animation “Nebula” by Dr Marcin Nowrotka from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice was recognized as the best music film during the 10th International Animation Festival “Golden Kuker Sofia” in Bulgaria.

The film Nebula is an experimental attempt to find a common point between two tendencies in the history of film – the Lumiere’s concept of film as a recording of reality and Melie’s philosophy to use it as a tool for creating fanciful worlds. Nebula draws from both these attitudes and becomes a combination, where a registered figurative picture intertwines with abstract compositions.

Using the technique of volumetric filming allows for registration of the event – meetings of musicians playing the work of Maciej Obara and to obtain a visual experience of music by using the soundtrack of the recorded work.
