Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin to hold XI Day of Historians

The 11th Day of Historians will be organized by the Institute of History of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin and will take place on Friday, February 21 between 10.00-13.30 at the Faculty of Humanities of the UMCS. This year the theme of the event is: “We Slavs, we like idylls – Poles’ free time”.

14 secondary schools from all over the region confirmed their participation in the 11th Day of Historians. Students will have the opportunity to participate in eight workshops and six plenary events on historical issues.

They will also be able to listen to lectures on free time issues in Poland of the past. They will be held in the Big Hall of the Faculty of Humanities.

During the event, the scientists and students will discuss such issues as: history in computer games, stage song of the Polish People’s Republic as a historical source, caricature of the Stalinist period as a propaganda tool or everyday life in Lublin during World War II.
