Maritime University of Szczecin launches a modern laboratory simulating the logistics processes

25.04.2018

The Maritime University of Szczecin officially opened the laboratory for the automation of logistics and production processes. The ceremony was attended by Marek Gróbarczyk, the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Waterway transport.

There are three industrial robots and a production line in the laboratory at the engineering and economic department of transport. The installed equipment demonstrates palletisation of the load, its loading and reloading. This is the first laboratory in the region that simulates the entire logistics processes “in a nutshell”.

The laboratory was financed from the funds of the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation. It enables students to learn about modern technologies currently used in automation and robotization of industry and logistics processes. Practice in the didactic processes provides the graduates with best possible preparation for work.
