Medical University of Silesia develops an innovative technology of craniofacial reconstruction

Department of Laryngology, Faculty of Medicine of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice begins the implementation of the project “Introduction to the surgical practice of new technologies for the reconstruction and regeneration of damaged tissues in the facial area”.

The undertaking will be co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development with almost PLN 7 million. The project will be implemented by a consortium including Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in Gliwice, the company “Solveere” Ltd and Kardio-Med-Silesia in Zabrze. The main task of the consortium will be to develop technology for receiving personalized tissue scaffolds that will be used in facial reconstruction.
