Ministry of Science allocated PLN 88 million to reconstruct the new infrastructure of the Polish Antarctic Station

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has allocated nearly PLN 88 million for the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the Henryk Arctowski Polish Antarctic Station. including the construction of a new main building.

– It is fair to say that the Polish Antarctic Station is our flagship in this region of the world, an unofficial embassy of Poland in Antarctica – said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin, Minister of Science and Higher Education.

The head of the Ministry of Science emphasized, that the most important factors for Poland are the extensive research possibilities that the station provides for Polish scientists.

Poland belongs to the elite group of 20 countries with year-round research stations in the Antarctic region. The monitored and collected research data since 1977 are used by Polish and foreign scientific institutions.
