Olga Tokarczuk, psychology graduate of the University of Warsaw receives Nobel Prize

Olga Tokarczuk won the Nobel Prize in 2018 in literature. The author of such novels as “The Books of Jacob” or “Flights” is a graduate of psychology at the University of Warsaw (UW).

By the decision of the Swedish Academy and the Nobel Foundation, two literary Nobel Prizes were awarded this year. Olga Tokarczuk received the award for 2018 and Austrian writer and translator Peter Handke got the prize for 2019.

Olga Tokarczuk is a writer, essayist and scriptwriter professionally. She is also a psychologist. Her works include novels, essays, poetry and film scripts.

Olga Tokarczuk has been honored with many awards for her work, including The Man Booker International Prize 2018 for the novel “Flights” and the Literary Award “Nike” for the novels “Flights” (2008) and “The Books of Jacob” (2015).
