PhD student at the University of Silesia receives the Fulbright Junior Research scholarship

Mateusz Król, a PhD student at the Department of Canadian Research and Literary Translation of the Institute of Romance Languages and Translation Studies at the University of Silesia, became the laureate of the prestigious Fulbright Junior Research Award for the academic year 2019/2020.

The purpose of the scholarship is to collect materials for the PhD dissertation. During the stay – for 6 to 9 months – the scholarship holder implements a research project at an American university, research institute or non-governmental organization. The scholarship is financed by the US Department of State and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Polish-American Fulbright Commission is an educational foundation whose main task is to administer the Fulbright Program in Poland – the largest program of scientific and cultural exchange in the United States. For over 70 years, the Program supports cooperation for the development of science, culture and interpersonal and interinstitutional relations between the US and over 160 countries.
