Physicists Boulevard launched in Wrocław

09.08.2019

The first stage of construction of the Physicists Boulevard, a unique experimental garden on the Zwierzyński Boulevard in Wrocław, has begun. Acoustic mirrors are the first of the many attractions that are to show in an accessible way the laws of physics.

– The Zwierzycki Boulevard is currently forgotten, but it is a charming place in the city center with a magnificent avenue of trees and a view of the Oder. We decided to create a project for its revitalization. We want to use the space without harming the plane trees growing here – says Dr Maciej Matyka from the faculty of physics and astronomy of the University of Wroclaw.

The project involves the assembly of four further attractions: a huge sundial, rotary dials with optical illusions, toys with delayed sound and a rotating platform. An additional attraction will be the geological lapidarium with samples of rocks and boulders on the background of the map of Lower Silesia.
