Polish-German SmartRiver project: Smart Oder Region launched

IHP – Leibniz Institute for Innovative Microelectronics from Frankfurt / Oder and the University of Zielona Góra are implementing the SmartRiver Intelligentes Odergebiet / SmartRiver: Inteligentne Nadodrze research project.

The aim of the project is to support flood protection of residents in the Oder river region of Słubice and Frankfurt (Oder), and to develop a cross-border, intelligent non-invasive monitoring system for flood embankments and riverside areas on both sides of the border area.

A project worth PLN 1 146 thousand euro is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the INTERREG VA Poland – Brandenburg Program 2014-2020. The coordinator of the project is IHP, and the Zielona Góra university, represented by the Institute of Metrology, Electronics and Computer Science. Also, Institute of Environmental Engineering is a partner in the project.
