Polish Mathematical Society award best scholars

Professor Adam Bobrowski from the Lublin University of Technology and Prof. Yuriy Tomilov from the Mathematical Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) became the laureates of the Polish Mathematical Society (PTM) awards.

Prof. Adam Bobrowski, head of the Mathematics Department at the Lublin University of Technology, was awarded the PTM Main Prize Hugo Steinhaus for his overall achievements in the field of mathematics applications. He is a specialist “in the theory of semigroups of operators and stochastic processes and their applications in biological models” and the author of 5 monographs and 66 scientific articles.

Prof. Yuriy Tomilov from the Department of Functional Analysis of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences received the Stefan Banach Main Prize of PTM for outstanding results “in the field of operator theory and semigroups of operators in Banach’s spaces and their applications in the theory of differential equations and ergodic theory”. He has been working at the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2006. Earlier, he defended his doctorate at the Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev and obtained habilitation at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
