Polish nature reserve with a research station in Colombia

08.02.2018

The “Polish” reserve is to occupy an area of approximately 30 hectares and will be located on the eastern side of the Andes, approximately 30 km in a straight line from the Amazon Forest.

The initiators of the reserve are Dr Marta Kolanowska from the University of Gdańsk and Dr Radomir Jaskuła from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Lodz.

In January 2017, the Institute for Biodiversity Research was established. It is a non-profit foundation to collect money for a plot of tropical forest and to set up a research station through voluntary contributions from people who are close to nature especially such exceptional places as rain forests.
