Polish scientific session at the Arctic Circle Assembly

The prestigious Arctic Circle Assembly will take place in Reykjavík on October 19-21 2018. One of the sessions, entitled Biotic indicators of the Arctic environmental changes, will be organized by members of the Polish Polar Consortium.

According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Polish session was selected from among 100 applications and was rated the highest by the Scientific Council. It will be devoted to “new phenomena of adaptation and expansion of plants and shrubs as a result of the ice sheet passing and warming of the climate in polar areas”.

The Arctic Circle Assembly is an annual forum for the presentation of achievements, plans and the promotion of scientific, economic and educational activities in the Arctic by individual countries and international organizations. Over 2 thousand participants take part in the conference including representatives of the world of science, politics and business from over 60 countries.
