Ten research teams from Poland won the competition organized by the M-ERA.NET network, which finances research in the field of materials science and materials engineering. Six of them will become the leaders of the projects.

Scientists from the Lodz University of Technology will direct the AnBaCo project, which aims to produce antibacterial coatings containing carbon nanoparticles obtained by the SolGel method. Under the TRAVEL project, scientists from Łódź together with the Warsaw University of Technology and the French CNRS will create functional materials for semiconductor lasers in sensors, autonomous vehicles, robots and drones.

The Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences is the leader of the AMCSS project, which deals with composite intelligent structures equipped with embedded FBG optical sensors and manufactured with use of spatial printing methods.

The Warsaw University of Technology will become the leader of the IsoWire project, which aims to create a coating that dissolves medicinal substances during surgical removal of kidney stones.
