Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin gains PLN 12 million to study civilization diseases

The Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin received about PLN 12 million for the project “The impact of biological and environmental factors on the development of selected diseases, with particular emphasis on civilization diseases, and methods of their prevention and treatment”.

The aim of the project is to conduct interdisciplinary research combining the issues of medical sciences and health sciences. The subject of the proposed research concerns issues related to civilization diseases of various origins – from biologically or environmentally conditioned diseases to social and psychological disorders.

Money for research is allocated from a pilot competition under the “Regional Initiative of Excellence” program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and will be paid for four years.
