Prof. Krzysztof Frysztacki to hold a lecture at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences

On January 16 at 12.00 in the conference room at the Main Library of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Warsaw, Prof. Krzysztof Frysztacki will hold an open lecture “On the benefits of sociology” as part of the SGGW Sociological Salon. Prof. Krzysztof Frysztacki is a Chairman of the Sociology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The Sociological Salon is an event originated and organized by the staff of the Department of Sociology of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW). The purpose of the meetings is to disseminate social knowledge and provide the scientific debate on important social problems.

Professor Krzysztof Frysztacki is a graduate of the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Kraków. For 10 years he was the director of the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University, and for 26 years he managed the Department of Applied Sociology and Social Work. He is the author of the following monographs: Metropolitan cities and their suburbs (Universitas 1997), Polish diaspora in a large American city (Ossolineum 1986), Sociology of social problems (Scholar 2009).
