Professor Alina Wieliczko from the Wrocław University of Life Sciences became the honorary doctor of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology in Lvov. She is the first woman in the history of this university, granted with this dignity.

Professor Wieliczko works in the Department of Epizootiology with the clinic of birds and exotic animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław. She is an outstanding specialist in veterinary science, the creator of rich scientific and popularizing achievements in the field of bird pathology.

In an interview for “Głos Uczelni”, the professor compares the award of the honorary doctor to the professorial nomination – This is something more. Of course, this dignity can be obtained without being a professor, because it is obtained for special achievements, but it is a great honor, distinction and appreciation in many areas, not only scientific ones – emphasizes Prof. Wieliczko.
