Professor Dariusz Szostek from the University of Opole becomes a member of EUIPO

Professor Dariusz Szostek from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Opole became a member of EUIPO – the European Union Intellectual Property Office, which registers trademarks and community industrial designs.

Professor Szostek specializes in the law of new technologies – legal aspects of blockchain, DLT artificial intelligence and also consumer law. He is an expert in the field of electronic identification and authentication methods. He participates in numerous scientific conferences and legislative works on legal regulations concerning new technologies.

– We want consumers to not be cheated. We strive, for example, to easily verify if you are dealing with an original or counterfeit product. Already in July this year, a pilot program is launched with the participation of European entrepreneurs interested in the protection of their goods and services – says the researcher.
