Professor Jan Chmura won the Crown of the World’s Biggest Marathons

Professor Jan Chmura, 69 year old researcher at the Academy of Physical Education in Wroclaw, won the Crown of the World’s Big Marathons. He completed the 6 most important and largest marathons in the world and simultaneously he had run the scientific project in physiology on his own body.

Professor Chmura is the only professor in Poland and the first academic and didactic employee in the history of APE in Wrocław, who won the Crown of the World’s Marathons. To get this distinction one must complete the marathons in Boston, London, Chicago, Berlin, New York and Tokyo.

The professor did not avoid Polish marathons – he completed running in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Dębno and Wrocław. In the last 5,5 years, he ran almost 20,000. kilometers (a distance from the North to the South Pole).
