Professor Jerzy Limon from the University of Gdańsk wins the Pragnell Shakespeare Award

Professor Jerzy Limon from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Gdańsk, initiator and director of the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theater became a Pragnell Shakespeare Award winner. This is a prestigious distinction awarded for outstanding achievements in popularizing and developing knowledge about the works of William Shakespeare and a significant contribution to understanding his work.

The Pragnell Shakespeare Award is an international award funded by the famous Jeweler Geoge Pragnella from Stratford upon Avon. The award is presented for the achievements of the past year or in recognition of lasting achievements for popularizing Shakespeare’s works in the field of theater, critics, research or education.

Professor Limon is an English historian, translator of English literature, a theatrologist and a writer. He is recognized as an outstanding expert on Shakespeare and the Elizabethan era. He is a member of Polish Academy of Learning, Polish Academy of Sciences and the International Shakespeare Society.
