Professor Maciej Żylicz to hold a lecture on “Micro-evolution of cancer cells” at the University of Wroclaw

University of Wroclaw invites participants on February 21 for a lecture of an eminent biochemist Prof. Maciej Żylicz, entitled: “Micro-evolution of cancer cells”. The lecture at the Congress Center of the university will take place as part of the Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar of the Wrocław University of Technology.

Professor Maciej Żylicz deals with the molecular biology of thermal shock proteins, the interaction of caring proteins, cancer transformation, p53, MDM2. For many years he worked at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw.

Since 2005 he has been the president of the board of the Foundation for Polish Science. He participates in works of many national and foreign academies of sciences, he is a laureate of numerous scientific awards. Professor Żylicz received honorary doctorates from Wrocław, Gdańsk and Jagiellonian Universities.

Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar is a program addressed to students, PhD students, researchers and anyone interested in deepening science knowledge.
