Professors from Gdańsk, Poznań and Toruń join the presidium of the Council for Scientific Excellence

Professor Grzegorz Węgrzyn from the University of Gdańsk became the chairman of the Council for Scientific Excellence. The position of vice-chairmen was offered to Prof. Bogusław Buszewski from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and Prof. Marian Goria from the University of Economics in Poznan.

The Scientific Excellence Council is a new body created to support the development of scientific staff. Their appointment is the stage of implementing the “Constitution for science”. The Council will take care of the highest standards of the quality of scientific activities required to obtain academic titles and the titles of professor.

The council consists of 141 members – three representatives of each discipline. Its composition was established in democratic elections in which all scholars with at least the post PhD title could participate. The voting took place through the Electronic Electoral System.
