Projects of the Warsaw Medical University win in the Golden Scalpel competition

In the 10th Golden Scalpel competition, the jury distinguished two projects implemented in the clinics of the Medical University of Warsaw (WUM).

The Gold Scalpel is a competition awarding prizes for outstanding innovations in Polish healthcare. The project “Implementation of an innovative and ultra-modern method of intrauterine fetal surgery with spina bifida in a carbon dioxide environment” took the second place. It was carried out in the 1st Department and Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical University of Warsaw. The project: “Innovative and unique endoscopic techniques for the treatment of patients with benign and cancerous diseases of the gastrointestinal tract” took the forth place and was carried out in the Endoscopy Laboratory of the Chair and Clinic of General, Transplant and Liver Surgery of the Medical University of Warsaw.

The jury awarded the first prize to the project: “The first implantation of artificial heart in Poland” by scientists from the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases.
