Quick and less painful diagnosis of breast cancer

02.02.2018

The Polish innovative company SDS Optic has constructed a prototype of microprobe for the early diagnosis of breast cancer, particularly the receptor of epithelial growth factor – HER2.

– Our technology – says Dr Magdalena Staniszewska, the creator of microprobe and director of science at SDS Optic – saves the patient from pain and stress associated with biopsy and long-term expectancy. The device allows for an objective diagnosis, without the risk of error in the interpretation of the results.

Dr. Staniszewska estimates that the new technology of breast cancer diagnostics will allow to reduce cancer mortality by 30%.

Microprobes will appear in doctor’s offices in 2021. (Kp)
