Researcher of the Nicolaus Copernicus University becomes the laureate of Stanisław Ossowski Prize

Dr Katarzyna Suwada from the Institute of Sociology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (UMK) became the laureate of Stanisław Ossowski Prize, awarded by the Polish Sociological Society for the book “Men, Fathering and the Gender Trap. Sweden and Poland Compared”- comparing paternity in Poland and Sweden.

The prize was established in 1973. It is awarded to the authors of the younger generation for outstanding sociological or from related disciplines.

Dr Katarzyna Suwada is an adjunct at the Department of Life Quality Research at the Institute of Sociology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. In the research work she deals with problems of fatherhood and masculinity, gender inequality, way of organizing care work, family sociology, family policy and an aging society. Shee is a member of the International Sociological Association, the European Sociological Association and the Polish Gender Society.
