Researchers from Hong Kong to hold lectures at the University of Silesia

Dr. Dorothy Tse Hiu-hung and Dr. Christophe Tong Yui from the department of humanities and creative writing of the Baptist University in Hong Kong will be guests of the Institute of Polish Literature of the University of Silesia from 16 to 18 May.

Visitors from China will give lectures on Hong Kong literature and culture. They will also present films about the city and the specific historical and cultural situation after its return to China. The lecturers will analyze the literature and art of Hong Kong from the perspective of the so-called Time Zero, the moment of the final takeover of Hong Kong by the People’s Republic of China.

Dr Dorothy Tse Hiu-hung and Dr. Christophe Tong Yui combine didactic work and creative writing workshops with research work on the latest literature of Hong Kong. They conduct translation and artistic activities. They are well-known and award-winning writers in China as authors of stories, novels and poems.
